  Back to Main      Specfications
Product Activation is Never Good Because
I do not buy any products that require product activation for many reasons:
It's like checking the customer's receipts, every time you use it!
Add to that if product activations fails the product does not work!

The only reason people buy such software is they do not know about the
software failure for when the product activation process fails.

A good analogy for Product Activation: Imagine if Wal-Mart made you show your receipt for a toothbrush every time you used it, and it you failed to show a valid receipt, the toothbrush does not work. This is also true for if you show your valid receipt but Wal-Mart miss reads the receipt, it may still fail, and with no warning, the toothbrush doesn't work. Now you have to talk to some one in India and try to explain, why you realy didn't steal the toothbrush, and to please, please, please, beleive me Sir, I did pay for this.

We wouldn't take this crap from Wal-Mart, and I am suggesting to all my customers, don't take this from Adobe, Microsoft, or Symantec, either!

TechJim software has NEVER had product activation.

The big reason for assuming ALL customers are going to steal your software, is assuming that all computer users are big thieves like Microsoft.
Microsoft has stated time and time again that 80% of software is illegal. The only thing they actually know is what is on the Microsoft computers, and I
guess they really are thieves!

Just because Microsoft will steal anything they can does not mean, the world
at large is thieves.

I do believe that Bill Gates and other Microsoft folks do steal more software than they buy, but that is not most of the world.

At TechJim, we do not even have serial numbers! Wow we must have the most honest customers in the world.

In view of the fact that Microsoft is stealing 80% of the software on their computers, are we at TechJim, going to make the whole world jump through hoops with Product Activation, or any other MS-Genuin BS? No, at TechJim we know most people are not the theives that Microsoft is.

We at TechJim trust our customers! We also understand the need for backup that actually work.

Microsoft should have been fired when they started product activation. I did fire Bill Gates and Microsoft for making products that are unreliable because Windows XP, Vista, Office and, do fail, every time you replace a hard drive! They say you can get new activation code buy calling the Microsoft headquarters in India, but buy the time you get through to them your name, your patient’s wares out and you figure, $400.00 for a new Windows CD is not that much to spend to avoid the whole India support. Once was the time, I was the first buy all the Microsoft products back in the days that they were reliable.
